R;Zatz began playing music with Aku-Fen (High Tone's guitarist) about ten years ago, in her room, facing her computer. Since then, she never quit living surrounded by music : indeed, she runs since 2002 the JFX Studio, and is the official sound engineer of the Jarring Effects label. All these years have confronted her to the label's artists, and to learn by their side: High Tone, Ez3kiel, Reverse Engineering...
In 2005, she left her room to spread her music wherever she goes, starting at a festival in Lisbon, with her mates of Pixelles as Vjettes. This electro-cinematic was named Kinokik, and toured around France and UK. Besides, she multiplied musical experiences, producing several tracks with Aku-Fen, associating her science of sound to the flow of Fisto (la 5e Kolonne), resulting in dark and heavy abstract hip-hop tunes.
In 2008, she finally released her debut solo album, “Will we Cross the Line”, where cold and dry drums, constantly on the breach, are building an answer to a world embarked in a quest for meaning and gravity. Nagging melodies are meeting astonishing rhythms, looking for the right equilibrium without any manicheism. I
n 2010, her new EP, “Vagina Rush”, brought light within anxiety. Maybe because new musicians joined the composer, drums, guitar, violin, vocals and form now a real band, for a magnificent plural record.
No matter how, R;ZATZ’s world is resolutely borderless, exquisitely dark and quietly tumultuous.
