Kevin Martin was at the start of The Bug in 1998. He was not born yesterday, to say the least, as he was one of the most inspired and productive artist of the 90's when talking about indus/noise/grind. Founding member of God, sound designer for legendary band Godflesh, he worked a lot with Justin K Broadrick within The Ice and most importantly Techno Animal. With mythical 1995 album “Re-entry”, the melting of styles and the shape of an audacious music was already blowing loudspeakers. Following this release, several prestigious collaborations (Alec Empire, Dälek...) gave even more credit to his work.

He then founded The Bug to introduce his own sound in dub-industrial Sound-Systems. He released a few Eps featuring The Rootsman, did remixes for Sofa Surfer and finally raised the basis of “raggacore”, which could be defined as the fusion of most angry ragga vocals, heavy dubstep rythms, tortuous bass lines and noisy tension. The impressive album “Razor X”, released in 2003 on Rephlex (Aphex Twin's label), exploded to the face of unprepared listeners, still remembering this shock wave. Along with other releases and projects (such as Ladybug), he finally came out with the album “Poison Dart”, released last year on Ninja tune, and went on tour to spread the raggacore virus with the help of MC Warrior Queen.
