On the shores of the rivers of Babylon, God chose EZ3kiel to be His prophet. On the shores of rivers leading to an endless darkness. Contrarily to other prophets, EZ3kiel then brought light and hope to a people feeling abandoned, to face the long and painful battlefield in front of him. Battlefield, EZ3kiel’s new album, offers us that light, making us cross darkness and torments, and never leaving us alone or helpless. Nobody was able to define their music, since their inspiration has never given way to any artistic compromise or the search of a smooth and orderly identity. Sharp guitars, fat basses, heavy and indus drums, all elements are gathered for a big sound, and incredible dynamics. Tracks are progressing continuously, inventing themes and structure all over again, taking the exercise as far as grindcore. The band knows how to be dark and enigmatic, always lifting the veil of hope with melodic movements of an harrowing intensity, in the middle of an atmosphere worth the hymns of Maldoror. In the same way as those of its biblical homonym, EZ3kiel’s prophecies are characterized by symbolic and allegorical representations, revealing a rich set of majestic visions and colossal symbols during every project.
