We've decided to offer you a sampler album of unreleased singles, unexpected collaborations and remixes, all exclusive, bringing together artists associated with the Jarring Effects catalogue and other artist friends. FX100 is a boxset like Jarring Effects is, made of meetings, confrontations and blending genres. Three records represent each musical facet of the label : dub, hip hop and unclassifiable music, to create one sole entity that symbolizes also a new start and announces great human and musical surprises.

CD1. Dub To Dubstep
1. OBF, Highvisators - Dub Fever (OBF remix) 
OBF crew revises with a great distinction Highvisators' (High Tone meets Improvisators Dub) Dub Fever tune released in 2005. All sound systems in Europe won't undoubtedly be able to wait for playing this hypnotic and unstoppable track. Not to mention a nice way to salute former Improvisators Dub's singer and producer, Manutension. That timeless song allows us to keep in mind his memory. A classic of its kind!
2. High Tone, Come to Teach (feat. Brother Culture) 
High Tone prefers composing instrumental music, though he sometimes invites selected singers on their productions. After Pupa Jim, Oddateee, Ben Sharpa, Shanti D, Martin Campbell, that's English Brother Culture's turn to face with their compound productions, it gives an amazing track where High Tone's psychedelic electronic music is confronted with reaggae/ragga Brixton MC style.
3. Niveau Zero & High Tone, Spank (Niveau Zero remix) 
Famous tune “Spank” that opens High Tone latest album has a straight face-lift by Niveau Zero. With an album released on Ad Noiseam label, that up-and-coming French producer on international dubstep scene shows how impressive his remixer talents are.
4. Dub Addict & Brain Damage, Mundhu (Dub Addict remix) 
This Mundhu remix – original track is extracted from Brain Damage “Short Cuts” album (2008) – allows to immerse ourselves in ethnic dub. French Dub Addict crew has concocted this version by keeping original emotional sense and bringing high psychedelic dose. A tune dedicated to wake up dance-floors.
5. Brain Damage Dub Sessions & Sir Jean, Royale Salute 
With this track Brain Damage clouds the issue and leaves his typical atmospheric and experimental dub music. For FX100, Martin Nathan, leading now a solo project, goes back to the roots and offer a classical reggae dub tune mixed with efficient horns. It doesn't mind Sir Jean (Mei tei Sho / Le Peuple de L'herbe) who so revives his first love. His voice both sensual and powerful brings high emotion dose and makes of this track an unavoidable 2011 hit.
6. Mayd Hubb & Löbe Radiant Dub System, Seaboard Costline (Mayd Hubb remix) 
French producer Mayd Hubb looks back in JFX history with this Löbe Radiant Dub System remix ! This track from « Echo Chamber Odyssey » album released in 2002 shows how fertile was this electro-live-dub scene 10 years ago. The track is deeply revisited but Mayd Hubb keeps its original dancing energy.
7. Kaly Live Dub, Infection 
The crew from Lyon-France keeps on experimenting and exploring electronic textures. Always involved in complex structures, Kaly transports us into cinematic universe to the borders of dub and dubstep.
8. Twelve, Dub War 
High Tone DJ responsible for ethnic incursions in band's productions had released a wonderful album “Perfectly Safe” in 2006 on Jarring Effects. He's back with a rich and narrative track where oriental samples meet a deeply urban universe.
9. Vibronics & Kaly Live Dub, What a Life (Vibronics remix) 
Vibronics, un des leader de la scène dub anglaise, remixe le célèbre "What A Life" de Kaly Live Dub.
Une relecture efficace qui met en valeur le chant singulier de Biga Ranx, jeune artiste âgé de seulement de 22 ans.
10. Led Piperz, Rolla Bearings 
Tireless producer, DJ, co-founder of Airflex Labs label, High Tone's VJ, Led Piperz is gifted to deliver true sound bombs both dark and groovy. That FX100 exclusive track is a mutant gimmick that turns head out on grime background : 4 minutes of happiness!
11. Dub Addict & High Tone, Rub-A-Dub Anthem (Dub Addict remix) 
Classic Rub A Dub Anthem revisited by Dub Addicts crew. The quite digital original tune goes here towards more roots and organic horizons with skank and frenetic beats. Super-active on sound-system scene, Dub Addict is taking care of his 5th 10'' “D” that will close the S.O.U.N.D serie.
1. Thavius Beck & Ben Sharpa, Blame Game 
On one hand Ben Sharpa emblematic MC of hip hop South-African scene who released his debut album with Pioneer Unit/Jarring Effects. On the other hand, Thavius Beck over-talented producer of West Coast undergound rap. One can't be deceitful by this meeting. Both of them open FX100 hip hop part. Thavius creates an electronic futuristic layer building dream set for Ben's devastating flow.
2. Twelve & Non (Shadow Huntaz), 445am Sunset 
Twelve goes to all musical fronts ! Not satisfied enough to grant us with great “Dub War” on CD1, High Tone's DJ meets there L.A. M.C. Non Genetic. Originated from Shadow Huntaz trio who recently released 12'' on English label Black Acre, Non Genetic regularly visits bumby productions. He seems to be in his element on this production going to the borders of dub and hip hop music.
3. Si Begg & Oddateee, Not Even One (Si Begg remix #1) 
When JFX invited Si Begg to perform at Riddim Collision festival in 2009, we gave him recently released “Halfway Homeless” Oddateee album. As English producer had straight appreciated the album, he offered us this remix tune that we obviously decided to insert into FX100. That transatlantic meeting gives rare, amazing and outstanding tune ! Si Begg broken beats with atmospheric textures create a real jewel box for Oddateee incendiary flow.
4. Sibot & M Sayyid, Sky Lark 
South-African producer Sibot (Playdoe, Real Estate Agent, DJ Fuck) comes back in force with M Sayyid as selected guest. Well-known as one of the Antipop Consortium's MCs, we met him at festival Riddim Collision 2007 on stage with Swiss abstract hip hop band Reverse Engineering (also singing on their latest album Highly Complex Machinery / FX095). This time he puts his cutting edge and uncomplexed flow on Sibot electro hip hop beats for an awesome track.
5. Dplanet & Konfab, Solar Eclipse 
We couldn't miss the opportunity to insert a 100% South-African production on FX100. With Reverse Engineering, Cape Town Beats (FX065) has represented an important turning point in JFX catalogue opening musical aesthetics to hip hop. It was so natural that Dplanet, main Ben Sharpa's and Pioneer Unit producer and label holder, introduces to us Konfab who has just released his new album on Pioneer Unit.
6. Metastaz, Yarah Bravo & Miscellaneous, Supah 
Metastaz has already released 4 albums, he multiplies artistic meetings with international atists and has created net-label Tazart. On this perfect track, the producer from Lyon has left aside electro dub for spicy hip hop beats and has invited MC Miscellaneous and Yarah Bravo. A catchy tune dedicated to become a hit !
7. Le Peuple de l'herbe, White Line Highway 
In year 1993, DJ Pee and Stany, founders of Le Peuple de l'Herbe, was rehearsing in Lyon in the same place (that will become the first JFX studio) than High Tone, L'Oeuf Raide, Mei Tei Sho, among the future JFX spearheads. He was also on FX001 “Fantasques Hits” ! Le Peuple has followed his own path but we always kept brotherhood links. For FX100, he gives us a typical track of his own where unstoppable JC001 flow is surfing on production mixing hip hop and breakbeats with high rocking energy.
8. Fumuj, Duck Tape 
Fumuj released their 2nd allbum « The Robot & the Chinese Shrimp » on JFX in year 2009. It was an obvious turning point towards fusion guitars, hip hop flows and electronic beats mixed with raw energy dedicated to the stage. They keep on exploring that way with their 3rd album and this exclusive track coming from the same recordings session is the proof.
9. L'Oeuf Raide & Bleubird, Defending the Dream 
L'Oeuf Raide was also featuring on FX001 released in year 1998 although The Straight Egg.ge wasn't yet hatched since he was still playing with the band Tong!, a bit less electronic. After releasing 5 albums and 3 Eps, The Egg has moved to Berlin to keep on experimenting and finding out new paths. FX100 is the opportunity to give shape to the meeting with globe-trotter MC Bleubird and they both strike us a electro-hip hop stormy tune.
10. Reverse Engineering & B Dolan, The Storm Never Passed 
After two Eps and two albums released on JFX, Reverse Engineering is back with the activist MC B Dolan. Swiss trio got us used to opening their productions to selected guests : M Sayyid, Blurum 13, Jasmine Plüss, Dyala. Their dark, martial and industrial universe is perfectly made for US rapper unstoppable flow who usually plays with Alias and Sage Francis.
11. Dplanet & K-the-i ???, Locked 
After Ben Sharpa/Thavius Beck, Sibot/M Sayyid, this is the 3rd US-SA collab initiated by FX100. Dplanet who also runs underground hip hop label Pioneer Unit label has produced dozens of tracks for this SA scene namely Ben Sharpa that he has strongly contributed to bring in the light. He offers here a spacial and harmful track perfectly shaped for K-the-i??? tense flow, who has escaped from Mush/Big Dada for the occasion.
1. Filastine Y La Bamba, Juniper (Filastine remix) 
Filastine, also globe-trotter now based in Barcelona, offer us a remix of this amazing Portland band Y La Bamba. This band has a singular indie folk universe that reminds us Devandra Banhart or Coco Rosie. Original track is there blended with electronic but keeps its mysterious and dreamlike spirit. Just beautiful!
2. Professor Psygrooves & EZ3kiel, Kika (Professor Psygrooves remix) 
EZ3kiel's Kika hit classy revisited by Professor Psygroove. After an outstanding debut album released in 2007 (FX087), the Prof was invited by Burnt Friedman (Flanger) to celebrate his 10 years career. This remix allow to (re-)discover so sensitive Psygroove productions, his deep bass frequencies, and how he's able to destroy minimal dub while keeping original track spirit.
3. R;Zatz & Black Sifichi, Dark Brown Eyes 
R;Zatz collective becomes a real band and tends to move away from 1st album “Will We Cross the Line ?” (FX074) abstract hip hop universe. He creates there a sweet melodic jewel box that allows to blend Black Sifichi and Marilou lyrics and to both voices to answer each other. This cinematic track is totally captivating and make feel like discovering new band's productions. His next album wll release in year 2012. We're also very happy to welcome Black Sifichi on FX100. He has collaborated with the label for years (EZ3kiel, Riddim Collision) and namely awesome Superstoned 12'' release (FX038) in year 2004.
4. Kool Trasher & Oddateee, Lost 
Parisian Kool Trasher collaborates with Oddateee to create this dark and introspective track that could come from one Bronx's studio. It will suit to raw East coast hip hop amateurs as it clearly reminds us Company Flow and Dälek universes.
5. Grosso Gadgetto & Bigg Jus, Sun Burn 
Grosso Gadgetto and Bigg Jus together for FX100, what an amazing and unexpected headline! It represents a dream for Grosso Lyon producer and may announce new Brooklyn Company's projects. As a result, we have a blended title. Intense and poisonous Grosso sound is magnified by New-York rapper who's able either to rap either to sing.
6. Si Begg & Oddateee, Not Even One (Si Begg remix #2) Si Begg & Oddateee number two ! Not content with giving us #1 outstanding remix, Si Begg offered us a 2nd version. It was so difficult to choose that we put both. This quieter track sustained by chorus and almost no rythm has nothing to see with electronic but is a proof that Oddateee's flow can adapt to unexpected style.
7. Scorn, Shake Hands 
People like to call him the accidental godfather of dubstep (but not him!): he revisits a title from his last album « Refuse : Start Fire ». The well named “shake hands” gets reprocessed through the machines of its own creator. The outcome is very different: however, don’t be afraid as the abyssal bass, the analogical texture and the almost mechanical rhythm are still playing their role. Abuse the cortex of radiation from which one never get out unscathed.
8. Ohmwerk & Major Klemt, Collision 2 
Ohmwerk & Major Klemt are two major contributors of the dubstep music spread in Lyon during the Temple Of Bass parties. Their productions draw their influences from Jazz to Jungle and bass music. After an outstanding performance at Riddim Collision and a big tune for JFX BITS 4, they celebrate this hundred’s reference with this “Collision 2”: a pure example of their talent.
9. Uzul & EZ3kiel, Phantom Land (Uzul remix) 
The man behind the machines of Kaly Live Dub revisits EZ3kiel’s “Phantom Land”. He leaves for the time of a tune the slowed down BPMs of dubstep to lift up EZ3kiel’s track with a muscular rhythm that progressively goes to breakcore. A surprising replay cut for the dancefloor.
10. Spade & Archer feat. France Loisir, Un mojito et je meurre 
Spade & Archer from Lyon rub the troubled mood of Picore’s side project named France Loisir. An experimental and tortured track, driven by surrealist lyrics of Pearl Harbor.
11. Vuneny & Von Magnet, Dancing Plaque 
Yet another beautiful association initiated by the FX100 project: on the one hand, Vuneny from Bosnia that released his 2nd album on JFX in year 2008 “Whatever Singularity” (FX088), and, on the other hand, Von Magnet, an interesting group expressing its art not only with music but also with dance, he also released an album "Ni prédateur Ni proie" (FX081) on JFX. Both bands offer here an hypnotic and turmoil track where Phil Von voice can't leave you safe. A nice way of waiting until the next release from Von Magnet scheduled in 2012!
12. Picore & Strings of Consciousness, Labyrinth 
Even though Picore's 3rd album « Assyrian Vertigo » is scheduled for release in October 2011, he found the necessary time to produce a superb track in association with Strings Of Consciousness: what a big celebration for the label's 100 reference!
The result of this collaboration is a track almost post rock styled, with a progressive and melodic style: one could think that it was produced at Constellation label's factory!
